Life becomes so much more exciting when there is a hint of spontaneity. From a simple discussion a few days earlier, we found ourselves on an aeroplane on our way to a corner of Europe. We met a couple of friends and begun our adventure. I was excited. The fact that I was standing in foreign land was so bizarre. I found myself staring at the German speaking adults and children around us. I felt lost. It felt like a dream.

As night fell we decided to spend a few hours by the lake. It was midnight. It was tranquil and serene. The lake in front of us remained motionless. Amir Hossein had his Setar and our friend had his Nay. The two played. When they stopped it was 2am. We found ourselves surrounded by an applauding audience. Some were standing and some lay on the grass beside us. We exchanged smiles. Although we came from different lands, and lived very different lives we all sought something in the music in much the same way.
