Oxford

We've been in Oxford for a while now and with every passing season I have become more and more attached to it.  A dear friend, Mr Behnoud, had told us that "Oxford has knowledge in every molecule of air!" It truly has an academic atmosphere. It is peaceful and has beautifully maintained historic buildings and educated inhabitants.

When I first found out that we were to move here I was devastated. I had lived in London for so many years and the thought of moving somewhere else frightened me. I think it was more the fear of the unknown. But this pretty little town exceeded my expectations beyond what I had anticipated.

There are numerous cyclists whizzing around on their bikes throughout the day come rain or shine. It makes me feel ashamed to use public transport when I see 85 year old Oxford university professors, riding their ancient bicycles to work in the mornings! They smile at life, and seem to look at everyday as an opportunaty to learn as well as teach.

تو به غربت دیده‌ای بس شهرها
گو کدامین شهر زانها خوشتر است؟
گفت: آن شهری که در آن دلبر است
